Each year 3 lucky and deserving TCS racers win a trip to Japan to compete in
the Tamiya World Championships held in Shizuoka Japan. They earn this trip by
winning the TCS North American Finals title in a respective class. In 2005 the
three winners were Corey Lewis (GT-1), John Houda (GT-2) and Edgar Fiallos
(F-1). These three racers made their trek to Japan on November 16th were they
were greeted by senior Tamiya Japan staff. Fourty plus winners since 1995 have
made this annual trip to see how they will fair against the worlds best. In the history
of TCS National Championship Series, national championship representatives
have only been successful twice in bringing back a world title. Those World
Champions are Robert Itoh (GT-1) and Raymond Flores (Mini) representing the
United States.
It’s hard to believe, but Tamiya America has been sending winners since
1995 and the 2006 season is only a few months
away. Our winners brought back pictures of their experience to share with
everyone. As we look forward to 2006 our winners would like to share with all
present and future participants of the TCS series that the effort it took to win
a National title to get them to Japan was well worth it. They will be back in 06
to take on former national winners at the now traditional “Grudge Match” at
the TCS North American Finals
