Race Format:
Qualifying
All teams will qualify
using the IFMAR start procedure.
5 cars will be on the
track in each qualifying heat.
The length of each
qualifier will be 15 minutes with one mandatory pit stop in which the battery
must be changed. (This is done so that pit strategy and team efficiency is part
of the teams qualifying time)
Qualifying will determine
the starting grid, the choice of pit lane position, and driver stand location.
Rules
- Any
Tamiya 4WD sedan chassis may be entered.
- Any
Option parts by Tamiya or aftermarket companies are allowed.
- Modifications
such as lightening are allowed as long as the basic car and parts are not
re-engineered.
- Any
sub “C”, 7.2V, 6-cell NICD or NIMH 4300 mah or lower battery capacity
battery pack may be used. “Lipo” batteries will also be allowed.
- All
batteries must have a plug of some kind.
Any connector is legal and there should be at least 1 inch of wire
between the battery and the plug.
- All
speed controls must have a connector attached to the power wires.
- No
custom quick release battery systems are allowed.
All battery changes must involve the act of plugging and unplugging
the battery from the speed control.
- The
entire
stock battery hold down system MUST be used during qualifying and racing.
CUSTOM, LOCKING OR MODIFIED
BATTERY
HOLD MECHANISMS ARE NOT ALLOWED.
(This rule is now in effect in
the spirit of keeping costs down and to put pit crews on a more even playing
field)
- Any
Tamiya Sedan or Sports car series body may be used, except Subaru Legacy
versions 1 and 2.
- Any
manufacture wheel, rubber tire and insert may be used.
- Tire
changes are legal.
- The
qualifying chassis and body are the ones that must be raced in the final.
- The
motor a team qualifies with must be the one that the team must use to race
with. (Motors will be checked
prior to qualifying and racing)
- All
motors, Brushless or Brushed must be “production motors”.
No prototype or experimental technologies will be allowed.
- If
a team blows up a motor during the 3 hour endurance race that team may
replace that motor.
- Quick
change motor mounts are not allowed.
- Personal
AMB transponders must be used.
- Cooling
fans are allowed on the chassis.
- Cutting
out the side windows or half of the front window of the body is allowed for
cooling.
- There
are no limits to the number of drivers per team.
Teams may have as many or as little as they need.
- There
are no limits to the number of stints a driver may drive.
If a team thinks they have a driver that can “iron man” the whole
event…………….God speed!
- All
teams must select a team leader/captain.
