Scotty Ernst Joins the Radio Control Motorsport Experience at Long Beach
Well-known radio control car announcer and owner of Trackside Hobbies, Scotty Ernst, will join HPI Racing, Tamiya America INC, and Kyosho America at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. Ernst hopes to broaden the radio control hobby by participating as the Master of Ceremonies at the various demonstration tracks, within the RCME booth. Ernst, while discussing the reasons for joining RCME said, "The main challenge for everyone in our industry is to get our exciting hobby out to the masses. The team behind the RCME is focused on promoting the hobby and getting everyone energized about it."
Ernst first became involved in the radio control industry in 1989. However, it was in 2002 at the Reedy Race of Champions, that Scotty Ernst began his profession as a race announcer. Since then, he has been involved in world-class touring car events such as the DHI Cup in Europe and the International Indoor Championships. He said, "The part of my job that I enjoy is watching the spectators get involved in the race I am announcing. Our racing is just as exciting as full scale racing and if I can get people into the race with my style of announcing, then I have succeeded in what I am trying to do." On April 16th through 19th, Ernst is set to bring the radio control world to tens of thousands of spectators.
Kyosho America, HPI Racing and Tamiya America INC. expressed their enthusiasm toward Ernst's involvement in the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. "When it comes to event announcing in our respective industry, there is no other name that comes before Scotty Ernst. As a track owner and events promoter, he is uniquely qualified to help our three respective brands reach new audiences in an exciting and profound manner. Ernst will certainly aid us in our mission to properly present this exciting hobby to full scale motorsports fans at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach."
