A little from Seth about his build

I was to young to remember the Sand Scorcher when they first came out but with the recent return I was given a chance to get in on the fun of building and driving these old buggies. I originally wanted to go in an Apocalypse style but as I got into the build my interest reverted more to my own love of building models that look old and used while still being new.

So after many hours and many many layers of weathering here is the result. The chassis was left totally stock but I painted all the metal parts with iron rusting paint, I used Tamiya M-chassis VW Beetle rear wheels with hex adapters, The front tires are some vintage worn down pro-lines on CRP wheels, The motor is a 55t can motor for lower speed and reduced damage risk and longer run times with scale feeling. I used a Tamiya Led unit and lights except for headlights which are vintage white leds. I have built full inner arches for the body from Styrene and done some minor body damage and rust simulation. The driver interior is an Scollins unit and the driver heads are 10th Scalin units made by friends I personalized them a bit to suit my build.

Many more little touches are also present but I will let my Cousin Jesse Sutherland's Photography bring those out. He is always willing to help in no small way make what I have build look as best it can. Thank you Tamiya for making such a fun to personalize model, that I'm sure I'll have trouble just building one of.
