Part Support Tips

Getting to know Tamiya's kit and parts numbering system:

The following explanation is helpful to knowing how to obtain and order kits, spare parts, option parts and miscellaneous accessories from your local dealer. Remember this! Your original kit manual instruction is your best friend when you need to find replacement spare parts. It has a lot of useful information. Don't lose it.

The overview and tips below will also help you to find things you need in our "search" section of our website.

Search Tips:

  • "58xxx" Numbers starting with the numbers "58" always designate a car kit.
  • "53xxx" Numbers starting with the numbers "53" always refer to an option upgrade part.
  • "50xxx" Numbers starting with the numbers "50" always refer to a stock replacement part.
  • "9XXXXXX" Numbers that are 7 digits always refer to stock replacement parts as well.
  • "49xxx" Numbers starting with the numbers "49" always refer to a limited edition kit or limited edition option upgrade part.

The only way to know these is through the original parts manual or the parts list found on the specific product page of a kit on www.tamiyausa.com

All of our kits, option parts and accessories have product pages. To quickly reach an item specific product page just key in the item number in our search engine and it will take you to the product page link. The same can be done with option parts. All kit product pages will have information that you can view online or download.

If you do not know the item number of what you are looking for key in the name of the vehicle and the link to the product page will be displayed along with anything relevant to your query.

Product pages include useful links to spare parts lists, kit exploded views, manuals and option parts lists.

Q. Why do you show discontinued items?

A. Not only can you find some of these items in stores, but parts are available for most of them. Discontinued only means we currently do not stock them, they may be re-released at some point as well.

 

Q. Do I have to sift through all of them?

A. No you can login or create an account our site, and check the box on your account page to hide discontinued items. You can then uncheck it at any time to show discontinued items.

Coming Soon Items FAQ

Q. What does Coming Soon mean?
A. These are new or re-release items at have been ordered and are in production and or in transit by boat to our warehouse.

Q. How do I know when these items will arrive?
A. You can contact our Customer Service Dept for more information or use the "Notify Me" feature on the items product page to be e-mailed when it is in stock.

Q. Can I see a list of "Coming Soon" Items?
A. Yes you can, simply click the "Coming Soon" on the top navigation menu on any page.
