TCS Rule Change - Tire Glue - Euro Truck Class
During the last TCS race at TQ RC Raceway, there was a small debate about the tire-glue rule in the Euro Truck class. The current rule states:
• It is not permitted to apply super glue on the horizontal surface of the tire to alter traction characteristics.
The problem seems to be a descrepancy of where exactly the horizontal surface starts. Tires that are worn or 'shaved' have a different horizontal surface than new tires.
To make it easier for us to tech and to remove the glue 'gray area', we've changed the rule:
• It is not permitted to apply super glue past the first full tread on the horizontal surface of the tire. Glue can not extend into the groove or on to the 2nd tread.
This allows drivers wishing to use glue as a performance enhancer to do so and experiment up to the entire first tread.
