Rc Tb Evolution Iii

  1. Description

The TB series chassis design goes as far back as the Tamiya TGX nitro sedan chassis in 1994. The TGX pioneered the center shaft, ring and pinion drive train for model cars. This shaft drive design was soon applied to the TB-01 electric sedan chassis, marking the beginning the TB series chassis. The popularity of Sedan racing lead to a variant of the TB chassis called the TB Evolution. Built for racing, the TB Evolution was equipped with performance features such as a double deck carbon fiber chassis, carbon shock towers, aluminum motor mount and ball differentials. Data collected from racing was applied to improve performance in the form of the TB Evolution II. The TB Evolution II had lightweight differential components, aluminum bulkheads and adjustable suspension blocks that allow precise suspension angle changes.

Tamiyas TB Evolution III is the latest variant of the TB series chassis featuring key improvements through out the chassis. One of the most significant changes is the position of the motor and battery. The TB Evolution III is now equipped with the motor on the right hand side of the chassis and the batteries on the left. This significantly reduces torque steer form the motor and promotes stable throttle response.

Lightweight differential out drives: These out drives are similar to the F201 and the 414M. The design maximizes smooth vibration free power transfer to the wheels.
The center drive shaft features reduced vibration during operation further enhancing stability and efficiency.
Spur gear adaptor also reduces driveline vibration from the spur gear. Spur gear size has been increased to offset motor and further reduce drive loss.
The lower chassis has been made 5mm narrower to help center the battery and electronics resulting in quicker steering response and reduced chassis scraping during heavy cornering.
The chassis post connecting the upper and lower chassis has been centered on the chassis to equalize chassis rigidity.
Suspension arms, caster blocks and uprights are from the 414MII. Adjustable suspension blocks allow precise roll-center, anti-squat and anti-dive adjustments.
Similar to the one-way unit on the 414MII, featuring ultra smooth rotation for efficient cornering.
Bulkheads has been eliminated to achieve 40g (1.4oz) weight savings.
The TB Evolution III improvements to the chassis, drive train and weight improvements are sure to suit both Stock and Modified sedan racing.
