This 1/35 scale model of the Sherman VC Firefly was originally released by the Japanese model maker named Asuka Model (previously known as Tasca Model) in 2008. Now, it is packaged together with Tamiya-made figures in this exciting new item!
The Sherman VC Firefly was a variant of the veteran U.S. Sherman M4A4 tank, operated during WWII by the British Army and which saw the vehicle fitted with a 17-pounder gun. Around 2,000 Sherman Fireflies were manufactured; it played a significant part in the Allied counter at the end of the WWII conflict. 2014 marks the 70th anniversary of D-Day operations and the release of the VC Firefly is a great addition to the Tamiya stable of WWII model kits.
