The 2009 MotoGP season saw the revamped YZR-M1 make its way to the race course. The frame"s
structural balance and rider center of gravity were improved while the more powerful and durable
engine"s performance was further increased through the use of a highly-precise engine management
system. Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo rode the bike to six and four wins respectively to claim
a 1-2 finish atop the riders" standings, enabling Yamaha to take the triple crown of Rider, Team, and
Manufacturer Championships.
