Mitsubishi A6M5 Zero Fighter

  1. Description

This is a built, painted and finished model of Mitsubishi A6M5 Zero Fighter 343rd Fighter Group, Guam, June 1944. Tamiya's expert model builders have hand finished this item to be proudly displayed in anyone's office or study.

The latest addition to the Masterwork Series of museum quality finished models depicts the A6M5 Zero fighter “Zeke” (also known as Model 52), a variant of the main Japanese Navy fighter aircraft throughout WWII. It was created to counter fearsome U.S. aircraft such as the P-38 and Corsairs. Featuring 50cm shorter wings with rounded wingtips, it boasted a top speed of 565km/h. It first saw action during the closing stages of the Solomon Islands campaign in the autumn of 1943 and went on to fight until the end of the war. This model depicts a marking scheme which does not appear in the standard Tamiya kit (Item 61103).
