Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb
-
Description
Nothing like the addition of a few figures to bring a model display to life! This limited edition set
features the excellent Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb kit paired with several Royal Air Force crew
figures to enable a realistic diorama straight from the box. After the Battle of Britain, the development of the Spitfire continued and new improvements
were added to the design. The result was the Mk.V series, which became the most widely
produced Spitfire variant. The Mk.V featured a more powerful Merlin 45 engine and 3 different
armaments, although by far the most numerous was the Mk.Vb with two 20mm cannon and 4
7.7mm machine guns. It was this Mk.Vb version that formed the backbone of the RAF fighter
force during the middle years of WWII, serving on all fronts.
